Jose Carlos Lopez Cervantes

Jose
Carlos Lopez Cervantes is
a licensed architect and member of the Spanish Official Chamber of
Architects of Almeria, currently working and teaching in Vienna and
Innsbruck.
He received his master's degree in architecture from
the University of Granada, Spain. He holds a master of science (MSc)
from the Urban Strategies Postgraduate Program "Excessive"
at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Jose is currently a PhD
candidate and teaching and research associate at the Institute of
Urban Design, University of Innsbruck. He has taught at the
Postgraduate Program of the University of Applied Arts Vienna
(2010-2015), the Institute for Advance Architecture of Catalonia
(Spain), the School of Architecture Technological University Lund
(Sweden), the University of Granada (Spain), and the Städelschule
Architecture Class (Frankfurt).
Cervantes has been a project architect at Coop Himmelblau and is co-founder of Studio Soqotra. His work has been exhibited at the Neue Galerie at the Joanneum Museum (Graz 2011), the Austrian Pavilion at Venice Biennale (Venice 2010), and the Official Chamber of Architects (Granada 2006).
He has been a teaching member of Studio Hani Rashid since 2016.
