Armin Hess

Armin Hess studied at the University of Technology in Graz, where he graduated from the Department of Urban Planning under Prof. Joost Meuwissen in 1997. From 1997 to 1998 he worked in Amsterdam at Ben van Berkel’s UNstudio.

Back in Austria he in Vienna in 1999, participating in architectural competitions and realizing projects in the field of urban design, housing, offices and interior design.

Hess started teaching as an assistant professor at the Institute of Architectural Sciences at the Vienna University of Technology in 2001 and taught advanced CAAD techniques in the Department of Architectural Design and Construction. Since 2000, Hess has been teaching at the University of Applied Arts under the supervision of Wolf D. Prix and Hani Rashid and from 2008 to 2010 for the Urban Strategies Postgraduate Program in Vienna.

Besides his teaching engagements, Armin Hess has been head of his archviz-related CG companyISOCHROMsince 2000. In 2012, he co-founded‘lectricEye to provide visual services for luxury brands. Since 2014, he haad been running the ddp-lab, a department at the IOA that provides digital tools and methods for architectural production.
