Prof.
Brian Cody
is a full professor and head of the Institute of Buildings and Energy
at Graz University of Technology in Austria. He is also a visiting
professor and head of the energy design unit at the University of
Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria. Prior to his appointment at Graz
University of Technology in 2003, he was associate director of the
international engineering consultancy Arup, which has over 13,000
staff members in over 35 countries, and design leader of their
offices in Germany. The focus of his research, teaching and practice
is on maximizing the energy performance of buildings and cities. He
is a chartered engineer (CEng MCIBSE) and founder and CEO of
Energy Design Cody, with 30 years of experience in the analysis and
design of energy efficient cities, buildings and systems. Cody serves
on many advisory boards and juries. He speaks fluent English, German
and Turkish.
In 2014 his contribution to the design of the NRW
state archive building in Duisburg, Germany was recognized with the
Balthasar Neumann European Award for Architecture and Engineering.
