Super Ancient / Hyper Modern is an exhibition presenting selected work from the 23/24 year at the Angewandte’s Institute of Architecture. At a time of change for the Institute, and at a moment where wider ecological and social urgencies demand radical change for architecture, the exhibition offers a space to reflect on the possible uses of the past, present and future.
Centred around an installation by Studio Jacob comprising an inflatable version of a neolithic dolmen, rock-effect beanbags and ultra vivid scenography, the installation draws on Viennese architecture’s radical and utopian visions of the future while simultaneously recalling the origins of architecture.
